ST. LOUIS - Keith Rose filed a federal lawsuit on Jan. 26 in the Eastern District of Missouri against Robert Schulte for violation of the Fourth Amendment.

According to the lawsuit, on Nov. 18, 2018, Rose drove to Jennings to attend a protest. While looking for a place to park, Schulte was alone in an unmarked St. Louis County Police vehicle and began following Rose, the suit says.

Rose was pulled over by Schulte and was asked to step out of the vehicle, the suit says. He was detained while Schulte searched Rose's vehicle without an authorized warrant or permission, the suit claims. Rose was released after a second police vehicle arrived on scene, the suit says. Rose was given a citation that falsely stated he had failed to stop at a stop sign., the suit says.

Rose seeks nominal, compensatory, and punitive damages, attorney's fees and cost of suit. Rose is represented by Anthony E. Roberts of St. Louis.
