The application period for the Sixth Annual Shook Scholars Institute is now open until January 31, 2023. The Shook Scholars Institute is an innovative three-day intensive professional development program concentrating on litigation and trial skills, leadership, and career success competencies for the underrepresented attorney. The Institute for diverse first-year law students takes place this spring March 29-31, 2023. Student travel, lodging and meals will be provided by Shook.
The application process requires a completed online application, résumé, law school transcript and a one-page essay explaining what applicants believe demonstrates their qualifications for the Scholars Institute and how they will contribute to the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.
The application process is open to all self-identified, racially and/or ethnically diverse and/or LGBTQ+ first-year law students enrolled full time in an ABA-accredited law school. The Shook Scholars flyer includes additional information about the program and application process.
