Lauren E. Surdyke, an attorney in Greensfelder’s Trusts & Estates practice group, has been selected as the recipient of the 2023 Roy F. Essen Memorial Award for Outstanding Work as a Young Lawyer.
The St. Louis County Bar Association awards this honor to an attorney under the age of 40 in recognition of their significant and noteworthy service to the community and the organized bar and their exemplary work as a lawyer.
Surdyke focuses her practice on estate planning, with an emphasis on high-net-worth families, charitable planning, complex family dynamics and business succession. She also counsels nonprofit organizations on applications for recognition of tax exemption, board management, and contract matters.
Active in civic and professional organizations, Surdyke has served on the gala committee for the Gateway to Hope organization, whose mission is to help remove barriers to affordable and quality breast health care for the community. She is also a volunteer presenter for the Gateway End-of-Life Coalition, which promotes high-quality end-of-life care for patients and their families. In addition, she serves as an Executive Committee member and CLE Chair for the St. Louis County Bar Association.
This award will be presented at the St. Louis County Bar Association’s annual dinner on February 4, 2023. Read the bar association’s announcement about the awards at https://stlcountybar.org/news/29.
