Greensfelder is pleased to announce that Eric Berry has joined the firm’s St. Louis office as counsel in its Environmental and Litigation groups.
With an extensive background in all areas of environmental law, Eric’s practice includes permit compliance counseling (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA), transactional matters, and enforcement defense, as well as litigation for a variety of environmental, health, and safety issues. He assists clients on a range of matters from providing counsel on day-to-day operational compliance questions and needs to addressing OSHA issues and agency inspections.
A seasoned practitioner, Eric guides organizations of all sizes through contractual and transactional matters, including due diligence associated with acquisitions and divestitures, permit-required periodic reporting, and regulatory agency requests for information, inspections, and interactions. He has advised entities on self-auditing and practical methods for the closing of identified regulatory issues and regularly serves as primary counsel for environmental remediation projects oversight, EHS regulatory compliance, product stewardship and regulatory affairs matters. He has worked on dozens of sites across the country, from one-party to mega-sites, working with regulators, other parties, and technical consultants.
As the former Vice President – Environmental Law of a large publicly traded pharmaceutical company, Eric was responsible for all environmental, health, and safety compliance at its manufacturing facilities companywide, SEC-required environmental disclosures, performed environmental due diligence on business divestitures exceeding $3 billion, and managed an environmental liability reserve in excess of $60 million for Superfund, RCRA, and state law remediation sites around the country.
Eric earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, his master’s degree from Duke University School of the Environment and a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Arkansas.
