Greensfelder is pleased to announce that Joel Birch has joined the firm’s St. Louis office as an associate in its Business Services practice group.
Joel focuses his practice on representing private entities in corporate matters such as mergers and acquisitions, financing, corporate governance and general corporate matters. He's worked as a lead attorney on numerous M&A transactions, participating in the planning and negotiation of transactions structures, and has extensive experience advising clients on capital raise and financing.
Working closely with both buyers and sellers, Joel has significant experience drafting purchase and sale agreements, disclosure schedules, and closing and ancillary documents. This includes drafting buy-sell agreements and advising on business matters such as entity formation.
Aside from navigating mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate matters, Joel regularly advises on business succession planning to ensure a seamless and efficient transition of ownership.
Joel earned his J.D. from Saint Louis University Law School, where he provided representation to entrepreneurs and small businesses through the SLU Law Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic, assisting them with contracts and trademark issues and advising on state and federal law. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and government from Lawrence University.
