Armstrong Teasdale proudly announces that Partner Lauren Schuster has earned a 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Award from Missouri Lawyers Media, citing her ongoing commitment to “advancing diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”

Schuster is dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusion initiatives, and has experience serving in leadership capacities for affinity organizations, including prior service on the firm’s Inclusion Committee, with various LGBTQ+ Bar Associations, and as an active member of firm-sponsored Resource Groups. She has also dedicated her time to various pro bono matters that advance diversity, equity and inclusion. She has staffed legal aid clinics, helped homeless youth gain access to resources, prepared estate planning documents for veterans and first responders, represented transgender victims of domestic violence in gaining court approval of confidential name change petitions, and served as an editor of a name change handbook.

“Lauren is so deserving of this recognition,” said Partner and Corporate Services Practice Group Leader Jennifer Byrne. “Our firm has long recognized Lauren’s commitment to our clients, her colleagues and the firm. Lauren brings that same dedication to advocating for the underrepresented and advancing the dignity of all people. As a DEI champion, Lauren serves our community by focusing on critical issues and advances our firm’s commitment to embracing diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Earlier this year, Schuster was promoted to income partner at the firm. A member of the firm’s Corporate Services group, Schuster focuses her practice on employee benefits, executive compensation and tax.

She is a member of the American Bar Association and National LGBTQ+ Bar Association, and has been named among The Best Lawyers in America® Ones to Watch for Corporate Law and Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law.

Schuster will be profiled in an upcoming issue of Missouri Lawyers Weekly for her D&I honor and will be recognized at a virtual event on Aug. 10.
