Greensfelder Officer Mark Stallion is among those being honored as part of Missouri Lawyers Media’s 2023 Diversity & Inclusion Awards.

The awards recognize individuals and organizations who are advancing “diversity, inclusion and the dignity of all people in Missouri’s legal profession and in communities in which exceptional legal work impacts justice for all.”

Stallion and the 19 other honorees were recognized in an Aug. 10 virtual event and featured in a special edition of Missouri Lawyers Weekly. “The individuals we honor through the 2023 Diversity & Inclusion awards do the right thing. They are part of the bedrock that supports a growing foundation of work throughout Missouri’s legal profession,” Publisher Susan Bocamazo wrote.

Stallion is an intellectual property and registered patent attorney who has a background as a senior project engineer and engineering manager. In addition to his work ensuring that clients at the firm are served by diverse talent, he is dedicated to mentoring local students and entrepreneurs. He has mentored high schoolers through Junior Achievement and served on the boards of the Independent Youth entrepreneurship organization and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In addition, he has served as a board member for Arch Grants, which provides funding to innovative startup companies, and for Venture Café. He is currently the board chair for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis.

As part of Stallion’s profile in the D&I Awards special section, he noted that working with diverse students has helped inspire his efforts. He said highlights of that include “seeing diverse undergraduate students transition to law school, graduate, and start their successful law practices as part of a program I initiated at my prior firm” as well as “mentoring a rising senior in high school, and then seeing that person breeze through undergrad and prepare to attend law school in fall 2023 as part of a program I initiated at my current firm.”
