Shook held a graduation ceremony to honor the attorneys who completed The Honorable Jon Gray Lawyers Leadership Academy for 2023. The following attorneys completed the program and were honored at a celebration in Kansas City:

• Partner Mayela Montenegro-Urch
• Associate Brittany Vanek

The Jon Gray Leadership Academy is named after Shook Partner and former Jackson County Judge Jon Gray. The academy pairs each attorney with a senior attorney and assists in building a variety of trial practice skills along with leadership and client-facing opportunities. 

The mission of the academy is to develop the next generation of Shook lawyers into firm leaders with different development opportunities.
