ST. LOUIS – A Texas resident has filed a lawsuit against a driver and Energy Transport Solutions, claiming he was injured in a vehicle accident due to driver negligence.

William Overka filed the lawsuit in federal court against Dennis Standley and Energy Transport Solutions citing allegations of negligence.

According to court documents, on May 12, 2022, Overka was in a vehicle traveling on East Pitman Avenue in Wentzville and was involved in a collision with a commercial vehicle driven by Dennis Standley, an employee of Energy Transport Solutions. Overka says Standley failed to stop his vehicle in time and collided with Overka's vehicle. Overka allegedly sustained injuries to his head, neck, shoulders, back and lower extremities.

The lawsuit says Standley's actions were negligent, citing speeding, failure to maintain a proper lookout and inattentive driving.

Overka seeks compensatory damages for pain, suffering, mental distress, loss of earnings, lost earning capacity and medical expenses as well as court costs, and other relief. He is represented by Eric M. Terry of TorHoerman Law in Edwardsville.
