SPRINGFIELD – A former employee is suing a Missouri medical marijuana company alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act after she was allegedly terminated due to her disabilities and the defendant's refusal to provide reasonable accommodations.

Plaintiff Ginny Young-Hasha filed a lawsuit in federal court against Infused Industries LLC doing business as Bison Infused, alleging violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to court documents, the defendant manufactures and sells infused marijuana products. The plaintiff has disabilities including adult attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, and autism. She alleges the defendant was aware of her disabilities and hired her to work as a manufacturing technician at its Buffalo location between January and March 2023.

The plaintiff claims she could have performed her job with reasonable accommodations. After being hired, the plaintiff requested accommodations, including a day off up to three times per month, which the defendant allegedly refused. The plaintiff asserts that her employment was terminated on or about March 24, 2023, for reasons related to her disabilities and in retaliation for requesting reasonable accommodation.

As a result of the defendant's actions, the plaintiff claims to have suffered damages. The plaintiff filed a charge of discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on September 9, 2023, and received a Notice of Right to Sue on September 11, 2023.

The plaintiff is demanding a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendant for damages, court costs, attorney fees, punitive damages and other relief.

The plaintiff is being represented by Raymond Lampert of Lampert Law Office in Springfield.
