Shook Partners Chris Kaufman and Harley Ratliff are panelists at ACI’s 28th Annual Drug & Medical Device Litigation Conference to be held at the New York Marriot Marquis in New York City, December 5-6. Kaufman excels in federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) defense, and Ratliff is a proven litigator who has spearheaded defense in some of the country’s most complex product liability and commercial lawsuits.
December 5, Ratliff will speak on the panel “Examining How Proposed New Rule 16.1 Will Transform the Future of MDL Case Management,” assessing, among other details, the MDL rule’s approval status and how it may be applied differently in different case settings and in different MDL proceedings.
December 6, Kaufman will appear on the panel “Examining the Rise in ‘Non-Traditional’ Liability Theories in Drug and Medical Device Product Liability Cases.” He will share how the defense bar can prepare for upcoming plaintiff bar attempts to circumvent traditional liability theories in drug and medical device claims.
The Conference will have more than 400 attendees of product liability defense peers from industry, private practice and government.
