ST. LOUIS – An employee has filed a $750,000 lawsuit against SG Construction alleging discrimination in her role as the only female lead project manager at the General Motors plant in Wentzville.

Megan George filed a lawsuit in federal court against SG Construction Services, citing allegations of discrimination and retaliation in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Pay Act.

According to court documents, George, who lives in Springhill, Tennessee, was employed as a lead project manager by SG Construction Services at the General Motors plant in Wentzville, Missouri. George alleges that during her employment with the company she faced mistreatment, gender-based discrimination, and retaliation by colleagues.

In her lawsuit, George alleges incidents of disrespectful behavior, including insubordination, derogatory comments, interference with her authority, safety concerns, and attempts to undermine her position as the only female lead project manager on site. She claims she reported these incidents to SG's management but that the company failed to properly address the issues.

George says she has reported her concerns to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and received a Notice of Right to Sue.

She is seeking compensatory damages in excess of $750,000, plus court costs, attorney fees and other relief.

George is being represented by Michael A. Moroni of Rice, Spaeth, Moroni & Heisserer in Cape Girardeau.
