Leaders at the University of Missouri School of Law are excited to announce that Danielle Dodd has joined the Mizzou Law faculty as the new director of the recently reopened Family Violence Clinic.
Professor Dodd joins the Mizzou Law faculty as an associate clinical professor of law after serving as legal counsel for the Department of Social Services. This included litigating termination of parental rights, adult guardianships, and opposing removal-of-name-requests under the Child Abuse and Neglect Registry. From 2018 to 2022 Professor Dodd worked at True North of Columbia, Columbia’s local domestic and sexual violence agency.
“We are very excited that Danielle Dodd will joining us to lead the Family Violence Clinic,” said Paul Litton, dean of Mizzou Law. “She has a passion for helping victims, and she brings a great combination of experience, from working directly with victims of abuse at True North of Columbia to her work as counsel with the Department of Social Services. I know she will provide a rich and rewarding clinic for students.”
Professor Dodd has experience teaching as well, having taught Legal Research and Writing at Mizzou Law as an adjunct faculty member. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri as well as her J.D. from Mizzou Law.
While in law school, Professor Dodd won the Nelson Mandela National Negotiation Competition and received the Roscoe Anderson Award for Excellence in Advocacy. Upon graduation she became a member of the Order of Barristers. Professor Dodd began work at Mizzou Law on Dec. 1.
