Former employees sue EadsCo Cleaning for wage violations

ST. LOUIS — Two women are suing EadsCo Cleaning alleging it failed to pay overtime wages.

Chrystal LaCour and Madysen Sitton worked as non-exempt maid associates for  EthruE-001 LLC, which is doing business as EadsCo Cleaning from July 2023 until October 2023, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

The plaintiffs claim their responsibilities included traveling to clients' homes, performing cleaning services and possessing knowledge of cleaning practices.

The defendant engaged in interstate commerce, accepting payments through interstate means and advertising nationwide. The plaintiffs were paid $19.00 per hour, but the defendant intentionally violated minimum wage and overtime laws, according to the suit.

Instead of compensating for actual hours worked, the defendant allocated fixed time limits, resulting in unpaid hours when jobs exceeded the allocation.

The defendant also arbitrarily reduced the plaintiffs' wages, with LaCour experiencing a rate reduction from $19 to $16 per hour without notice during several pay periods. Sitton claimed she also faced unlawful pay cuts, leading both plaintiffs to quit their jobs by October due to repeated wage reductions.

The defendant's actions violated federal and state wage and hour laws, constituting a breach of duty.

The plaintiffs, left with no choice, assert constructive discharge as a result. Despite their departure, the plaintiffs have not received full payment for all worked hours, overtime, or reimbursement for the improper deductions, demanding restitution for these wage violations.

The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages. They are represented by Mohammed O. Badwan of Sulaiman Law Group in Lombard, Ill.
