Young lawyers collaborate to support Operation Breakthrough

On Dec. 14, 2023, members of The Missouri Bar Young Lawyers’ Section partnered with the Lawyers Association of Kansas City Young Lawyers’ Section to support the annual Santa’s Snow Ball event benefiting Operation Breakthrough, a charity organization built to serve impoverished families.

This year’s Snow Ball included a holiday meal, gifts, balloon twisters, and time with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The two YLS groups provided funding for the event and volunteered to serve meals, pour drinks, and wrap and hand out gifts to families.

Thank you, Prof. Abrams

Scott Robbins of Kennedy, Kennedy, Robbins & Yarbro, LC and chair of the editorial board for the Journal of The Missouri Bar pays tribute to Prof. Douglas E. Abrams for his 24 years of service to the Journal of The Missouri Bar.

“Thank you seems to be the very least of words that could be said to Prof. Abrams for his remarkable career and contributions to the legal profession. Hopefully, they are enough.”

Case.net public documents accessed by the public now display a watermark

Since the system’s Oct. 19, 2023, monthly deployment, publicly viewable documents accessed remotely via Case.net by public users include a watermark reading “Not an Official Court Document.” The watermark will also be displayed if the document is printed.

Most popular stories

This month, the bar’s most popular articles continued to be The Missouri Bar’s weekly case summaries, followed by November’s In Memoriam.

View Supreme Court of Missouri and Missouri Court of Appeals hand-downs each week online, where there are headings and summaries for each case. These summaries are not part of the opinions of the Court and should not be quoted or cited.
