A former driver accuses Ruan Transport of gender discrimination.

Tammy Stavricos filed her federal complaint against Ruan Transportation Management Systems Inc. She accuses the company of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, Stavricos was hired as a driver by Ruan in October 2022. She claims she was fully capable of performing her duties. However, she alleges she began to face discriminatory treatment because of her gender following the hiring of a lead dispatcher named Kim Skipper.

The complaint outlines several instances where Skipper allegedly favored male employees over Stavricos, including refusing to provide her with necessary information and ordering her to drive over a flooded road against safety procedures. Stavricos also claims she was unfairly disciplined for events that never occurred while male drivers were not held accountable for their mistakes.

Stavricos reported these incidents to managers Tim Lafoon and Tanner (last name unknown). Despite this, she was terminated on February 16, 2023. She believes her termination was retaliation for complaining about sex discrimination.

After her termination, Stavricos applied for another position within the company but alleges she was denied due to her gender and previous complaints about discrimination. As a result of these actions, Stavricos is seeking damages including back and front pay, emotional distress, punitive damages, attorney fees, costs, and other relief deemed just and lawful.

She is being represented by Raymond Lampert of Lampert Law Office.
