A man has sued Universal Studios because a clip from a movie trailer isn't included in the final theatrical version of the film.
John Parker originally filed his complaint in St. Francois County Circuit Court, but it was removed to federal court.
He claims Universal misled audiences with a trailer for the movie "Yesterday." He says the trailer featured a scene with actress Ana de Armas and the Beatles’ song “Something,” neither of which appeared in the final theatrical version of the film. Parker is seeking to represent a class of all persons in Missouri who paid to watch "Yesterday" based on the allegedly misleading trailer.
The plaintiff seeks monetary and/or statutory damages, interest and attorney fees.
Universal denies all allegations and claims made in the complaint.
