Alabama man blames Monsanto's Roundup for causing cancer

Federal Court
Rounduppic

An Alabama man says Monsanto's herbicide Roundup caused cancer.

James Chambers filed his lawsuit against Monsanto Company in federal court.

According to the complaint, Chambers claims Roundup, which contains the active ingredient glyphosate, is responsible for causing his Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He says Roundup is defective and dangerous to human health and accuses Monsanto of negligent conduct related to the design, development, manufacture, marketing, advertising, distribution, labeling and sale of the product. He also argues that proper warnings about the dangers associated with its use were not provided.

The complaint states that thousands of similar cases have been reported across the country.

Chambers seeks compensatory damages.
