A Florida woman blames Monsanto herbicide Roundup for causing her cancer.

Deborah Cooper-Heimann, who lives in Cape Coral, filed her lawsuit in federal court against Monsanto Company.

In the complaint, she alleges her exposure to Roundup, which contains the active ingredient glyphosate, resulted in her developing Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Cooper-Heimann allege Roundup is defective and dangerous to human health and accuses Monsanto of negligent conduct in relation to the design, development, manufacture, testing, packaging, promoting, marketing, advertising, distribution, labeling and sale of the product. She maintains that Roundup lacked proper warnings and directions regarding its associated dangers.

The plaintiff is seeking compensatory damages.
