A woman says her mother died because of negligence on the part of a nursing home.

Edith Walton, daughter of the late Rhonda Walton, filed her complaint in federal court against Georgian Gardens Healthcare LLC, Prime Advisory LLC and Gateway Healthcare of Missouri LLC.

According to the complaint, Rhonda Walton died from a preventable pressure ulcer and infection developed at Georgian Gardens Healthcare, a skilled nursing facility located in Potosi. Edith Walton claims all three defendants had a duty to provide reasonable care for her mother's safety while under their supervision.

The complaint also accuses Prime Advisory of substantial involvement in the management and operation of Georgian Gardens Healthcare, claiming it diverted funds out of Georgian Gardens that should have been used to hire adequate nursing staff, directly impacting the care provided to all residents including Rhonda Walton.
