Professor Kimberly Norwood Receives The Newmark Institute for Human Relations Pluralism Award

Congratulations to Professor Kimberly Norwood, who received The Newmark Institute for Human Relations Pluralism Award from the Jewish Community Relations Council of St. Louis on May 21. The Award is given annually to five individuals whose work advances a pluralistic society where diverse religious, racial, and ethnic groups live and work together and their differences enhance the community.

Professor Norwood teaches courses including Torts, Education Equality, Equity and Reform in K-12 Public Schools, and a seminar on Implicit Bias. She is the principal partner of her consulting company, KJN Equity Consultants, LLC which conducts implicit bias and cultural competency workshops, and DEI assessments. She was among the national experts who advised Starbucks on the company’s implicit bias programming. Professor Norwood is both Editor and Contributor for two books: “Color Matters: Skin Tone Bias & the Myth of a Post-Racial America” and “Ferguson’s Fault Lines: the Race Quake that Rocked a Nation.”
