Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli continues to bolster its IP capabilities – the firm welcomed Zachary J. Block as an Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Patent Prosecution shareholder in its St. Louis office. He is one of multiple new additions to the firm’s IP practice in a strategic move across the firm’s nationwide offices, including recent hires Brian Larivee (Boston), David Hsu (Denver), William (Bill) Di Bianca, Jordan Riviello (New York) and Kendall Gurule (Denver). Block’s practice covers a range of industries such as autonomous vehicles, aerospace, electric motors and control as well as medical devices.
“We are thrilled to welcome Zach to our nationwide practice. His ability to collaborate closely with businesses to craft tailored IP strategies and robust patent portfolios will make him an asset to our clients,” said Polsinelli’s Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Patent Prosecution Chair Gregory P. Durbin.
“I am excited to join a highly capable IP practice. I look forward to bringing to bear Polsinelli’s great resources for my clients, and to augmenting the excellent service they are delivering every day for their clients,” added Block.
Block graduated cum laude with his bachelor’s in electrical engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology before completing his J.D., cum laude, at Southern Methodist University School of Law.
He helps clients protect their innovations, technology and market share by developing and implementing strategies for U.S. and international patent portfolio development as well as by assessing the patent landscape. The strategies range from harvesting and developing ideas, navigating IP-based investments and acquisitions, to leveraging patent assets in enforcement and monetization activities.
