UB Greensfelder LLP is pleased to announce that Counsel Jared S. Manse, Ph.D., has been recognized with a 2023 Patent Pro Bono Achievement Certificate from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for his volunteer work assisting financially under-resourced inventors and small businesses with the protection of their ideas. This is the second year that Manse has been recognized for his work through the regional Saint Louis University Pro Bono Patent Program. He was one of 120 patent practitioners who reported 50 or more hours of patent pro bono service to a regional patent pro bono program, up from more than 90 practitioners the previous year.
As a molecular microbiologist and patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Manse possesses a unique combination of practical laboratory knowledge and prosecution skills in a diverse range of biosciences and biotechnologies. His areas of expertise include life science, biochemical, pharmaceutical, material sciences, and food law and regulations. He offers valuable support to his clients in patent prosecution, IP licensing, litigation, and strategic planning for infringement and validity matters. Manse earned his B.S. in Biology from Wake Forest University, his J.D. from Duke University School of Law, and his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology-Medicine from the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
