Armstrong Teasdale is proud to announce that Partner Untress “Trez” Quinn was sworn in as president of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis (BAMSL) where he will prioritize protecting and upholding the integrity of the justice system and the Rule of Law.
Quinn, who previously served as Board Secretary for BAMSL from 2021-2022, is only the second partner from Armstrong Teasdale to be elected president of the association – the first being Kenneth Teasdale who served a one-year term beginning in 1934.
Quinn was sworn in as president as part of BAMSL’s annual Law Day event on May 1, 2025. The organization’s mission is to empower lawyers and other legal professionals in the St. Louis region to better themselves through community service, social networking and education.
Quinn, a seasoned trial lawyer and managing attorney of the firm’s Edwardsville, Ill., office, has noted that his priorities as BAMSL president will be to work with the executive committee to protect the public trust in the justice system, by addressing difficult questions with regard to access to justice, equity and ethics.
“Much of my effort will be focused on safeguarding the Rule of Law to protect public trust in the justice system,” said Quinn. “We will be holding roundtable discussions throughout the legal community and engaging the judiciary to advocate for reform that promotes transparency and fairness.”
Addressing mental health challenges in the high-stress legal industry will be another priority during Quinn’s one-year term as BAMSL president as he looks to foster an environment where mental health is not a stigma.
Finally, under Quinn, the Bar Association will focus on community engagement and expanding the association’s civic education and pro bono outreach to the community.
Quinn’s practice at Armstrong Teasdale focuses on complex tort and product liability litigation in a broad range of industries. Prior to becoming an attorney, Quinn was a registered nurse for more than 10 years. He was also a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves for 13 years, where he achieved the rank of first lieutenant and was awarded the Meritorious Service Award.
