ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis man has filed a class-action lawsuit against an investment company and its owner, citing alleged violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Patrick Coyne filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Four Leaf Clover Investments LLC and Stephen E. Saladin, which operate seven Jimmy John’s locations, alleging that they failed their duty to pay employees for all hours worked at a correct rate.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he and other assistant managers suffered loss of earnings for working over 40 hours per week but were not not paid proper overtime wages by the defendant at the statutory rate of one and a half their regular rate. The plaintiffs hold Four Leaf Clover Investments and Saladin responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to post information on minimum wage and overtime wage requirements and failed to properly compensate all employees for overtime hours worked at the correct rate.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendants, designate collective action, unpaid wages, injunctive relief, damages, interest, costs, expenses, attorney’s fees, expert fees and further relief as the court deems just.
