St. Louis resident alleges Crescent Bank continued to call despite requests to stop

ST. LOUIS — A consumer from St. Louis is suing Crescent Bank & Trust Inc., citing alleged violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Rena Brown filed a complaint on March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Crescent Bank & Trust, alleging that the banking corporation violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that starting on Oct. 8, 2014, she received multiple calls to her cellphone in a single day. She has been annoyed and harassed. The plaintiff holds Crescent Bank & Trust responsible because the defendant allegedly willfully placed calls using an automatic telephone dialing system and continued to make calls even after her request to stop calling her.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500 for every negligent violation and $1,500 for every willful violation of the Act, court costs and such other and further relief as may be just, proper and equitable. She is represented by Adam T. Hill of Krohn & Moss Ltd. in Chicago.
