St. Francois County resident accuses Courtesy Loans of Missouri of wrongful discharge

Wrongful term 01

ST. LOUIS — A St. Francois County woman is suing her former employer, a loan agency, citing alleged retaliation and wrongful discharge.

Melissa Quevreaux filed a complaint on March 30, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Courtesy Loans of Missouri LLC, d/b/a Co Lo of Mo LLC, and Langley Management LLC, alleging that they violated the OSHA’s whistleblower's protection program.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 19, she was terminated for filing a complaint regarding her demotion. As a result, she has suffered lost wages and other benefits of employment and has incurred attorneys’ fees, costs and expenses. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly terminated her employment for providing information to a state government authority that the defendants fraudulently issued loans to consumers by forging consumers’ signatures on loan renewal documents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks injunctive relief; compensatory damages including reinstatement with the same seniority status, back pay with interest, litigation costs, attorney fees; and for such other relief as may be just and proper. She is represented by Kevin J. Dolley of Law Offices of Kevin J. Dolley LLC in St. Louis.
