ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis woman is suing Enhanced Recovery Company LLC and Does 1-4, debt collectors, citing alleged false and misleading representations.

Antionette Turner filed a complaint on March 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against the defendants alleging that they violated the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 6, she received a letter from the defendants attempting to collect a debt in the amount of $1,483.43. As a result of the defendants' conduct, the plaintiff has suffered damages, including loss of time, attorneys’ fees paid for advice regarding her situation, humiliation, anger, anxiety, emotional distress, fear and frustration. The plaintiff holds Enhanced Recovery Company and Does 1-4 responsible because the defendants allegedly falsely stated that the only way she could get the account out of collections and of of her credit was to pay the debt and attempted to entice her to make immediate payment by offering a 40 percent discount.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory and actual damages, interest, costs and attorneys’ fees and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by Nathan D. Sturycz of Main Street Law LLP in Edwardsville.
