Representatives allege Schaltenbrand Construction failed to make all contributions to funds

Contract 01

ST. LOUIS — Trustee representatives are suing Schaltenbrand Construction Inc., citing alleged violation of workers compensation acts.

St. Louis – Kansas City Carpenters Regional Council, Carpenters’ Health and Welfare Trust Fund of St. Louis, Carpenters’ Vacation Trust of St. Louis, et al filed a complaint on April 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Schaltenbrand Construction alleging that the Illinois corporation violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that due to the absence of an audit and accounting, the plaintiffs will be unable to determine the full amount owed to them by the defendant under an agreement and ERISA. The plaintiffs holds Schaltenbrand Construction responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to make all obligated contributions to the employees' trust funds and to forward to the union all the deducted dues.

The plaintiffs seek all unpaid principal amounts due to the plaintiff's funds, plus interest, liquidated damages, reasonable attorneys' fees, costs of this action and all other legal and equitable relief the court deems appropriate. They are represented by Greg A. Campbell of Hammond and Shinners PC in St. Louis.
