Man alleges brother died due to Loy-Lange Box Co.'s negligence

ST. LOUIS — A man is suing a corrugator and custom box manufacturer, citing alleged negligence in safe keeping workplace safe for employees.

James Lee, survivor of Clifford Lee, now deceased, filed a complaint in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Loy-Lange Box Co., alleging that the defendant failed its duty to properly inspect, maintain and repair a semiclosed receiver boiler and associated boilers and equipment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 6, Clifford Lee died due injuries he suffered when a semiclosed receiver (SCR) crashed through the roof, striking him. As a result, James Lee suffered pecuniary loss, funeral expenses and loss of companionship. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to properly maintain the SCR and associated boilers and equipment, failed to properly train its employees to maintain, inspect, repair and test the SCR and associated boilers and equipment and failed to have appropriate safety products and procedure in place with to SCR and associated boilers and equipment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seek judgement for a fair and reasonable amount, additional damages for aggravating circumstances, costs incurred and such other relief which the court deems just and equitable.
