Labor Department accuses PAR Partnership of failing to pay wages

ST. LOUIS — The U.S. Department of Labor is suing a lawn service company, citing alleged violation of workers compensation acts.

United States of America on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor filed a complaint on June 22, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Eastern Division against PAR Partnership, Inc., doing business as Outdoor Solutions alleging that the defendant violated the Debt Collection Improvement Act of 1996.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 25, 2016, it sent the defendant a letter about provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act and that it owed unpaid wages of $298,612 to 38 nonimmigrant workers and an assessment of civil money penalties of $56,200. The plaintiff claims it notified the defendant about its right to request a hearing. 

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to a request a hearing in a timely manner and failed to pay debt amounting to a total of $353,812.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in the amount of $354.812 plus interest, administrative costs charges, penalties and for such other relief as the court may deem just and proper. The plaintiff is represented by Joshua M. Jones, assistant U.S. attorney in St. Louis.
