St. Louis resident accuses debt collector of harassment

Phone 01

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis consumer is suing debt collectors, citing alleged unlawful debt collection practices.

Dennis Krieg filed a complaint July 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri Eastern Division against Franklin Collection Services Inc. and Does 1-10, alleging they repeatedly violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he has suffered and continues to suffer from annoyance, humiliation, anger, anxiety, fear, frustration and embarrassment because of the defendant's actions. The plaintiff holds Franklin Collection Services and Does 1-10 responsible because they allegedly attempted to collect the plaintiff's alleged debt from an individual he does not know and continued to place calls even after advising them to cease calling him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, litigation costs, attorney’s fees and all further relief that the Court may deem just and proper. He is represented by Sergei Lemberg of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
