Owners of German Shepherd accused of negligence

ST. LOUIS — A couple and their minor daughter are suing owners of a German Shepherd dog, citing alleged failure to warn passersby about the dog.

Samantha Lattray, a minor, and parents, Jeffrey and Cynthia Lattray, filed a complaint on July 13 in the St. Louis City Circuit Court, alleging that Massi Nouri and Mohammad Noori, the dog's owners, violated the a St. Louis ordinance by allowing the German Shepherd dog to run without a leash and bite the minor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that Samantha Lattray was walking to a residence in which she was to babysit on Aug. 9, 2016 when she without warning the defendants' German Shepherd dog allegedly ran unleashed from their home and bit her while she was on public property. As a result, she reportedly suffered physical injuries, emotional distress and medical expenses. 

The plaintiffs holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to follow city ordinances and state law by reportedly allowing their dog to run without a leash.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment in an amount in excess of $25,000, which is fair and reasonable to compensate for injuries and damages, a statutory fine $1,000 for costs and for any further relief.
