ST. LOUIS — A property owner is suing a utility company, citing alleged slander of title.

GST Properties LLC filed a complaint July 25 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District alleging the utility company wrongfully placed a false lien on the plaintiff's property.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered damages because its permanent loan was canceled and for time and effort expended to eliminate the false lien on its property. The plaintiff holds Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District responsible because the defendant allegedly mistakenly charged the plaintiff for the building next to its property and refused to correct the error.

It is represented by Matthew J. Ghio of Ghio Law Firm LLC in St. Louis.
