ST. LOUIS — A consumer is suing a debt collector, citing alleged deceptive debt collection practices.
Tina Cannon of St. Louis filed a complaint July 22 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Genpact Services LLC, alleging the debt collector violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff claims she the defendant misrepresented its involvement in attempting to collect the alleged debt. The plaintiff claims she was intimidated into paying the debt and suffered from anxiety, frustration and worry as a result of the defendant's actions.
The plaintiff holds Genpact Services responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly explain how much she actually owed, failed to inform her of the nature of charges and overshadowed her dispute and verification rights.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, attorney's fees, costs, interest and all other relief as the Court deems just and proper. She is represented by Bryan E. Brody and Alexander J. Cromwell of Brody & Cornwell in St. Louis.
