ST. LOUIS — A former employee is suing an employer and supervisor, citing alleged discrimination and sexual harassment.

Jenna Mauller filed a complaint Aug. 7 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Heartland Automotive Services Inc., doing business as Jiffy Lube, and Raphael Doriety, alleging they violated the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she has suffered and will continue to suffer lost wages and employment benefits, emotional distress, mental anguish and other nonpecuniary damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Doriety allegedly assaulted, battered and falsely imprisoned her and terminated her employment in retaliation for filing a complaint about sexual harassment and discrimination with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs and expenses and any further relief as the court deems just and equitable. She is represented by Lawrence P. Kaplan and Catherine R. Grantham of Kaplan & Associates LLC in St. Louis.
