St. Louis driver claims other motorist followed vehicle too closely

Car accident 39

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis driver is suing another motorist, citing alleged negligence.

Paula Canada filed a complaint Aug. 7 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Maja Sadikovic, alleging she breached her duty to exercise the highest degree of care in operating her motor vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 4, she sustained injuries and damages when her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by the defendant. Canada claims she suffered injuries to her back, neck, right shoulder and sternum and incurred costs for medical treatment. The plaintiff holds Sadikovic responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout, followed Canada's vehicle too closely and failed to stop or swerve to avoid a collision.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in excess of $25,000, costs for this action and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Ryan R. Cox of Ryan R. Cox & Associates LLC in St. Charles.
