Vehicle passenger claims she suffered permanent injuries in St. Louis crash

Car accident 38

ST. LOUIS — A passenger is suing two vehicle operators, citing alleged negligence.

Consuelo Griffie filed a complaint Aug. 7 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Alice Gibson and Naalor Yibe, alleging they failed to operate their vehicle in a careful and prudent manner.

According to the complaint, on June 13. 2016, the plaintiff was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Yibe when they entered the intersection of Cass and Jefferson avenues in St. Louis and collided with a vehicle driven Gibson. Griffie claims she sustained severe and permanent injuries to her neck, back and upper extremities that resulted in great pain and lost wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Gibson and Yibe responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain a careful lookout, failed to yield right of way and failed to apply brakes when necessary.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against each defendant for damages in excess of $25,000, plus costs expended for this action and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Justin D. Guerra of Holloran Schwartz & Gaertner LLP in St. Louis.
