ST. LOUIS — A former laborer is suing various entities, citing alleged negligence.
Mark Garnier filed a complaint in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Alcatel-Lucent USA LLC, Alfa Laval Inc., Centurylink Inc., et al, alleging that they failed to exercise ordinary care and caution for the safety of others.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was exposed to and inhaled asbestos fibers from certain products manufactured, sold, distributed or installed by defendants. As a result, he claims he was diagnosed with lung cancer related to asbestos on Sept. 2, 2016. He has suffered medical expenses, physical and mental pain and lost wages.
The plaintiff holds Alcatel-Lucent USA, Alfa Laval, Centurylink, et al responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently included asbestos fibers in their products when adequate substitutes were available and failed to provide adequate warnings and instructions concerning the dangers of working with or around products containing asbestos fibers.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of over $25,000, plus costs of this action and any further relief that the court may deem just and equitable. He is represented by Randy L. Gori and Barry Julian of Gori, Julian & Associates PC in Edwardsville.
