ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing a building materials supplier, citing alleged failure to exercise ordinary care while working.

Lisa Lariccia filed a complaint Aug. 21 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Arrowhead Building Supply Inc. and John Doe, alleging they failed their duty to perform their operations properly to prevent injury or harm to others near the worksite.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 27, she was on the ground observing the defendants' work on the roof of her fiance's property when a roll of tar paper fell from the conveyor and began rolling towards her. The plaintiff attempted to run away but was unable to outrun it before it rolled over her leg and ankle, crushing them.

As a result, Lariccia claims she suffered physical injuries, reduced capacity to earn wages and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to use proper method of transporting the subject roll of tar paper, failed to warn of the roll of tar paper coming towards her and failed to comply with applicable state and federal regulations regarding their operations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for such sums, in excess of the minimum of $25,000 as will reasonably and fairly compensate for damages, punitive damages, costs incurred, pre- and post-judgment interest and further relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Mark A. Canto and Nathan W. Davis of Cantor Injury Law LLC in St. Louis.
