ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis woman is suing a restaurant, citing alleged negligence.

Laverne Dednam filed a complaint on Aug. 24 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against China King Restaurant LLC, alleging the restaurant breached its duty to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 2, 2016, she was at the defendant's restaurant when she slipped and fell on a wet floor. She claims she sustained injuries to her neck, lower back and head and was suffered pain, disability and diminished capacity to enjoy life.

The plaintiff holds China King Restaurant responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently permitted the wet floor to remain in a dangerous condition and failed to remedy or warn its customers about the existence of such condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000 and all other relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Scott E. Sherman of Law Office of Scott E. Sherman in Clayton.
