Jefferson County resident accuses employer, board members of wrongfully firing her

Wrongful term 03

ST. LOUIS — A Jefferson County resident is suing her former employer and the organization's board members and executives, citing alleged hostile work environment, retaliation and wrongful termination.

Kristin Boyd filed a complaint Aug. 23 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Randolph Grim, Cassady Caldwell and others, alleging they violated the Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA).

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she suffered lost wages and benefits, physical and emotional pain, humiliation, mental anguish and loss of personal and professional reputation after she was terminated from her employment Jan. 17.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly subjected her to racial discrimination and harassment and retaliated against her by ending her employment for opposing practices prohibited by the MHRA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages of more than $25,000, punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs of this action and any further relief as the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Lynette M. Petruska. J.C. Pleban and Steven R. Kratky of Pleban & Petruska Law LLC in St. Louis.
