St. Louis driver claims other motorist followed to closely, resulting in crash

Car accident 15

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis driver is suing a motorist, citing alleged negligent driving.

Linda Compton filed a complaint Aug. 18 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Christopher Edward Brasfield, alleging the defendant permitted his vehicle to collide with the rear end of plaintiff's vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 21, 2012, she was driving her Ford Explorer on an eastbound Interstate 70 exit ramp when the defendant struck the rear end of her vehicle. As a result, Compton claims she suffered physical injuries, lost her earning capacity and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Brasfield responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to keep a careful lookout, followed too closely and struck and collide with the rear end of plaintiff's vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for such sums in excess of $25,000, costs incurred and for any other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Edward J. Deghroony in St. Louis.
