Arnold resident accuses Synchrony Bank of telephone harassment

ST. LOUIS — An Arnold resident suing a financial institution, citing alleged telephone harassment.

Donna Wright filed a complaint on Aug. 18, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri against Synchrony Bank, alleging it violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May she has received least 49 calls on her cellphone from the defendant. As a result, she claims she was annoyed and harassed. The plaintiff holds Synchrony Bank responsible because the defendant allegedly called her phone multiple times and on consecutive days, including nights and weekends, using an automatic telephone dialing system without her consent.

The plaintiff seeks statutory damages of $500 for each and every negligent violation and $1,500 for each and every willful violation of the act, litigation costs and all relief deemed proper. She is represented by Adam T. Hill of Krohn & Moss Ltd. in Chicago.
