ST. LOUIS — A cook is suing a restaurant, citing alleged racial discrimination and wrongful termination.

Ermgathe Mues filed a complaint Aug. 24 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Uncle Bill's Pancake House, alleging that the defendant violated the Missouri Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Aug. 1, 2015, and Dec. 1, 2015, she experienced a hostile work environment, disparate treatment, including being deprived of employment opportunity, verbal and emotional abuse, and refusal to be paid of equal wage to similar to other employees allegedly due to her race. She was terminated from her employment with the defendant Jan. 1, 2016.

The plaintiff holds Uncle Bill's Pancake House responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her due to her race, gender and nationality, which greatly contributed to a hostile work environment and her termination from employment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks award for damages in excess of $25,000, including attorney's fees, costs and other relief the court may deem proper. She is represented by Chloe Woods and Larry S. Fields of Fields & Associates LLC in St. Louis.
