United Care Services accused of retaliation, wrongful termination

Wrongful term 12

ST. LOUIS — A home health aide is suing a former employer, citing alleged retaliation and wrongful or constructive termination.

Stacy Crawford filed a complaint Aug. 27 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against United Care Services CDS LLC, alleging that the former employer violated the Missouri public policy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 5, 2017, she was constructively discharged from her employment. As a result, she claims she has suffered lost wages and employment benefits, emotional distress and other damages. The plaintiff holds United Care Services CDS responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected her to continued harassment and retaliation and ended her employment for reporting suspected violations of Missouri wage laws.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages of more than $25,000, reasonable attorney's fees, costs and all relief deemed proper. She is represented by Jeremy D. Hollingshead of Hollingshead & Dudley in St. Louis.
