Former cleaning company worker alleges sexual harassment

ST. LOUIS — A cleaning woman is suing her former employer, Poelker Commercial Services Inc., owner Lucas Poelker and supervisor Eli Smith, alleging sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful discharge.

Princella Jones filed a complaint on Aug. 24, in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they violated the Missouri Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 15 of this year she was wrongfully terminated from her employment. As a result, she has suffered lost wages and employment benefits, physical and emotional pain and loss of reputation, the complaint says. The plaintiff holds Poelker Commercial Services Inc., Lucas Poelker and Eli Smith responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against her in terms, conditions and privileges of employment and retaliated and terminated her employment for opposing unlawful employment practices and sexual advancements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of at least $25,000, plus punitive damages, costs of this suit, attorney fees and all further relief that the court deems just and equitable. She is represented by J.C. Pleban and Steven R. Kratky of Pleban & Petruska Law LLC in St. Louis.

St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court Case number 1722-CC11115.
