Women claim driver caused injuries after losing control of vehicle in St. Louis

Car accident 13

ST. LOUIS — Two women are suing a motorist, citing alleged negligence.

LaTeacha Tigue and Aleia Tigue-Gillen filed a complaint Sept. 11 in the St. Louis 22nd Judicial Circuit Court against Lakricia Cox, alleging the defendant failed her duty to exercise the highest degree of care while operating her vehicle.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 17, 2016, they were driving at Washington Avenue and North Street when Cox allegedly lost control of her vehicle, striking both plaintiffs' vehicles. As a result, the plaintiffs claim they suffered physical injuries and incurred expenses for medical and hospital treatment.

The plaintiffs hold Cox responsible because the defendant allegedly drove her vehicle at a dangerous and excessive speed, failed to keep a lookout and failed to swerve or turn her vehicle to avoid a collision.

The plaintiffs seek judgment in excess of $25,000 for costs, pre-judgment interest and for other relief the court deems proper. They are represented by Keith P. Gray in St. Louis.
