ST. LOUIS — A woman is suing a St. Louis funeral home, citing alleged negligence in maintaining the property.
Linda Hayden filed a complaint Sept. 7 in the St. Louis Circuit Court against Serenity Memorial Funeral and Cremation Services LLC, alleging that the property owner breached its duty to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 14, 2015, she was at Serenity Memorial Funeral and Cremation Services when she slipped and fell to the floor. She claims she sustained serious and permanent injuries to her left foot and left ankle, resulting in pain and suffering and loss of normal life. She also claims she incurred medical expenses The plaintiff holds Serenity Memorial Funeral and Cremation Services responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently caused the dangerous condition by failing to provide railings on the stairs or steps.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $25,000, plus costs and interest and any further relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Timothy J. Smith of Rudman & Smith LLC in St. Louis.
