Woman sues driver, insurance company in St. Louis crash

Car accident 39

ST. LOUIS — A motorist is suing a vehicle owner and an insurer, citing alleged negligence and breach of contract.

Jennifer Johnson filed a complaint Sept. 18 in the St. Louis County District Court against Shavondia Wilson and Hartford Insurance Group, alleging that Wilson failed to exercise due care and caution in operating her automobile.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 21, 2015, she was entering the intersection of Riverview Drive and Spring Garden Drive when her vehicle was struck by Wilson's automobile. She sustained injuries to her head resulting in pain, medical expenses, lost wages and loss of ability to enjoy life. The plaintiff holds Wilson and Hartford Insurance Group responsible because Wilson allegedly failed to obey the right of way and failed to apply brakes to avoid a collision, and Hartford refused to pay the plaintiff's uninsured motorist claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, attorney's fees, costs and further relief as court deems proper. She is represented by David Bryant of David Bryant Law LLC in Florissant and Lorenzo Hester of The Hester Group LLC in St. Louis.
